Eagles Headed to Regional Tournament
The MSJC baseball team wrapped up the regular season last week splitting a pair of games with Mt. SAC and now will open the 2026 playoffs against them on Friday at Palomar.
The MSJC baseball team wrapped up the regular season last week splitting a pair of games with Mt. SAC and now will open the 2026 playoffs against them on Friday at Palomar.
The Eagles traveled to Walnut on Tuesday where they lost to the Mounties 7-3. In a well-played game MSJC got an RBI each from Dayton Thompson and Alex Pintal as well as a pair of hits including a double from Matt Rezkalah but could never quite breakthrough in the loss.
Thursday MSJC hosted the Mounties and celebrated Sophomore Day with an 8-4 win. Pintal was the offensive hero as he had two hits and drove in four runs, Isaiah Diaz earned the pitching victory as he threw two innings of relief. The Eagles celebrated with their sixteen sophomores with a brief ceremony prior to the start of Thursday's game.
The Eagles finished the regular season with an overall record of 22-18, they earned the #24 seed into the 3C2A Southern California Regional Tournament.
MSJC will travel to Palomar College on Friday to open the Regional with a game against Mt. SAC at 11 am. The loser of Friday's first game will take on top-seeded Palomar at 3 pm while the winning team will return to play on Saturday. The three team Regional is a double elimination format that runs Friday through Sunday with all games played at Palomar. The team that emerges from the weekend will move on to the Super Regionals May 8-10th.
