Bio
Jonathan Norton was hired as the shcool's first ever women's flag football coach prior to the 2026-27 school year.
Norton joins the Eagles with nearly a decade of coaching experience at the high school level. He also currently serves as the head girls flag football coach at Moreno Valley High School. He had the opportunity to coach tackle football at MVHS where he served as both defensive coordinator and secondary coach. His time at the high school level also includes coaching track and field as well as leading the strength and conditioning program.
Prior to his coaching career Norton played Division I football at Fresno State University where he helped the team to two Mountain West Conference Championships and three Bowl game appearances.
The new MSJC women’s flag football program will start training this Fall and will compete as an “emerging sport” in the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) in the Spring semester of 2027. The program will operate out of MSJC’s San Jacinto Campus and is currently looking for athletes for the coming season. There will be a Fall Semester class (PEIC 161-A) offered as an introduction and training for the Spring season.
