The MSJC women’s basketball team pushed their win streak to five earlier this week as they defeated both Rio Hondo and LA Trade Tech.

The MSJC women's basketball team pushed their win streak to five earlier this week as they defeated both Rio Hondo and LA Trade Tech.
Monday the Eagles recovered from a slow first quarter to beat Rio Hondo 74-51. MSJC trailed 22-16 after the opening period but rallied to outscore the Roadrunners 23-4 in the second to lead 39-26 at halftime. The Eagles slowly pulled away over the final twenty minutes. Karsen Marshall led the offensive effort with a game high 30 points, Kohen Marshall had a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kiara Williams and Keslyn Henson both added 10 points each in the victory. Williams also had 8 assists and 6 steals.
Tuesday MSJC built a 9-point lead by halftime and held off LA Trade Tech 59-52. Karsen Marshall was once again the Eagles top scorer with 23 points and Kohen Marshall had her second straight double double this time with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Anisa Turner added 9 points for MSJC and Williams had 9 assists and 5 steals.
The two victories pushed the Eagles overall record on the season to 11-4. MSJC, who is 2-0 in IEAC Conference games, will return to league play on Saturday when they travel to College of the Desert for a 1 pm game. MSJC will return home for a pair of games next week when they host Barstow on Wednesday at 5 pm and San Bernardino Valley Saturday at 1 o'clock.
