Women's Tennis Season Comes to a Close at Ojai
The MSJC women?s tennis team concluded their 2025 campaign late last week with four players taking part in the 3C2A state tournament in Ojai.
The MSJC women's tennis team concluded their 2025 campaign late last week with four players taking part in the 3C2A state tournament in Ojai.
Madison Williamson competed in both singles and doubles, and she earned an opening round win in each draw. In singles she began the tournament with a 6-2, 6-2 win over an opponent from College of the Sequoias. In the round of sixty-four she fell to Julianna Vich a strong player from Mt. SAC 0-6 and 0-6. Breannah Baron also played in both draws at Ojai unfortunately she was eliminated from the singles tournament in an extremely competitive opening round match. Baron lost 2-6, 6-4, 3-6 to West Valley College's Isabella Pacini-Pinto.
Baron and Williamson would team up in the doubles draw where they earned an opening round win over a team from Cabrillo College 6-0 and 6-4. The Eagles doubles team of Trinity Anderson and Cameron Royo would also earn an opening round doubles win when they defeated a Rio Hondo team 7-5 and 6-2. Both pairs would run into tough competition in the round of sixty-four as both Eagle doubles teams were eliminated.
Ojai concluded a solid year for the program. MSJC finished 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference earning a second-place tie in the league standings.
