Beach Volleyball Splits Final Two Home Matches
The MSJC beach volleyball team played their final home matches of 2026 on Friday and split with Mira Costa and San Diego City.

The Eagles lost to Pacific Coast Athletic Conference team champions Mira Costa 5-0 in a tough opening match. The number five pair of Elle Scott and Jasmine Serpas did not make it easy on the Spartans as they won their opening set 24-22. The duo could not hold on to the lead however as they lost the second set 21-10 and the third 15-8.
In the second match of the day the Eagles defeated San Diego City 4-1. Destiny Affor and Daija Malcolm set the tone at the number one spot as they won in straight sets 21-16 and 21-13. The number two pair of Jade Tolliver and Sophia Castro also won in straight sets 21-14 and 21-11. MSJC also picked up wins at number three and five as Amari Ramirez and Angelina Browder earned a 21-15 and 21-8 victory while Scott and Serpas won 21-15, 21-15.
MSJC is now 8-17 overall on the season and 4-6 in PCAC matches. The Eagles have two more regular season matches to play before taking part in the PCAC Tournament. Friday they will travel to Mira Costa to play Grossmont and San Diego Miramar. The first match on Friday will begin at 9 am.
