Hot Shooting First Half Carries Eagles to Victory
The MSJC men’s basketball team took advantage of a hot shooting first half on Wednesday night to build a 12-point lead by halftime on their way to a 96-81 home win over San Diego Mesa.

The MSJC men's basketball team took advantage of a hot shooting first half on Wednesday night to build a 12-point lead by halftime on their way to a 96-81 home win over San Diego Mesa.
The Eagles made 21 of 33 field goals in the opening twenty minutes including connecting on 9 of 16 three pointers to build a 56-44 lead at the break. MSJC pushed the lead to as much as 18 early in the second, but Mesa continued to battle, cutting the lead to ten at 89-79 with just under two minutes to play, but that would be as close as they would get.
Adrian Mosley led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds; he also had 3 steals. Willie Miller added 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the victory. Tyler Frazier-Mathews had 13 points and RJ Dawson scored 11. Point guard Joseph Boddie had a strong floor game with 7 points and a game high 9 assists.
The Eagles improved to 8-3 on the season with the victory and now begin Inland Empire Athletic Conference play with a pair of important games on Saturday and next Wednesday. Saturday MSJC hosts Chaffey at 3 pm in their IEAC opener and Wednesday the team travels to Joshua Tree to take on Copper Mountain.
