Eagles Push Past Desert in Second Half

The MSJC men's basketball team scored 58 points in the second half on Saturday to pick up a conference road win at College of the Desert 96-91.
The Eagles trailed by six at halftime and did not take the lead for good until there was just 1:54 to play in a game that featured 11 ties and 13 lead changes. Adrian Mosley broke an 87-87 tie with a lay-up followed by a Willie Miller jumper that gave MSJC a four-point advantage with a minute and a half to play. From there the Eagles made just enough shots from the free throw line to keep the advantage.
Mosley finished the day with a team-high 24 points to go along with 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocked shots. Miller recorded his first and the team's first triple-double of the year as he poured in 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists. Tyler Frazier-Mathews added 20 points as he made 5 of 7 three-point shots. RJ Dawson also hit double figures, scoring 18 points. Desert's Lee'Tron Turner led all scorers in the game with 26.
MSJC improves to 10-5 overall with the win and are now 2-1 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play, Desert fell to 3-12 and 0-3.
The Eagles will be at home twice this week with key IEAC matchups against Barstow on Wednesday and San Bernardino Valley on Saturday. Both games this week are part of a doubleheader with the women's team; Wednesday's men's game is set to tip-off at 7 pm.
