Eagles' Offense Runs Past Palo Verde
The MSJC men's basketball team had an impressive offensive performance on Saturday as they won an Inland Empire Athletic Conference home game over Palo Verde 118-84.
The MSJC men's basketball team had an impressive offensive performance on Saturday as they won an Inland Empire Athletic Conference home game over Palo Verde 118-84.
The Eagles and the Pirates both came out hot as the two teams exchanged baskets for much of the first half. A late first half 12-3 run by the Eagles gave them a 63-57 lead at halftime.
MSJC came out of the locker room in the second half and took control of the contest, starting the half with a 22-6 run and then cruising to the finish line.
Adrian Mosley had a team-high in both points and rebounds as he scored 24 and pulled in 15 boards. Five other Eagles also reached double figures on the afternoon. Willie Miller added 19 points, RJ Dawson had 14, Stephen Castleberry scored 13, and both Joseph Boddie and Tate Gates each had 10. Boddie dished out a game-high 8 assists in the win as 12 of the 14 Eagles who played in the game scored.
The Eagles are now 13-6 on the season and 5-2 in IEAC games, they will be back in action this week with a pair of road games. MSJC will travel to Victor Valley on Wednesday and Chaffey on Saturday. Wednesday's game is set to begin at 7 pm while next Saturday's game will tip-off at 3 pm.
