The MSJC men's basketball team continued their push towards the playoffs on Wednesday as they picked up a conference home win over College of the Desert 99-83.
The Eagles used a balanced scoring attack throughout the night to build a 13-point lead by halftime (49-36) and held off a handful of runs from the Roadrunners over the final twenty minutes.
Tyler Frazier-Mathews had a strong game as he scored a game-high 22 points, he also grabbed a team-best 12 rebounds while also blocking 3 shots. Willie Miller added 18 points in the victory while RJ Dawson added 10. Kameron Manning-Fuimaono came off the bench to reach double figures with 11 points and point guard Joseph Boddie had a game-high 6 assists and made 4 steals. De'miem King led Desert with 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Eagles improved to 17-6 overall and 9-2 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play while Desert fell to 5-18 and 2-9. MSJC currently is sitting in second place in the IEAC standings, two games behind San Bernardino Valley. The Eagles will be on the road on Saturday when they travel to Barstow for a 3 pm game.
