SBVC Snaps MSJC Win Streak
The MSJC men’s basketball team saw their 7-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night as they lost at Inland Empire Athletic Conference leader San Bernardino Valley 88-78.
The MSJC men's basketball team saw their 7-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night as they lost at Inland Empire Athletic Conference leader San Bernardino Valley 88-78.
The Eagles trailed by four at the half 37-33 but struggled to keep the Wolverines off the glass in the second half and fell behind by as much as 22 with 8:31 to play. MSJC did make a late charge, going on a 22-8 run that closed the gap to 83-75, but that would be as close as they would get. SBVC ended the night shooting 54.5% from the field and out rebounded MSJC 44-26.
Willie Miller was the Eagles' leading scorer on the night with 20 points; he was followed by 15 by Joseph Boddie. Adrian Mosley added 13 points and a team-high 6 rebounds. Daniel Crawford and Kory Dodson made contributions off the bench with Crawford scoring 11 while Dodson had 8 and 4 rebounds.
The loss dropped the Eagles overall season record to 18-7, they are now 10-3 in IEAC games. MSJC is in second place in the league standings with three games remaining. The Eagles will be back at home on Saturday when they host Cerro Coso at 3 pm.
