MSJC Has Six Headed to Ojai
The MSJC men?s tennis team will be sending one singles player and three doubles teams to the 3C2A Regional and State Tournaments in Ojai next week.
The MSJC men's tennis team will be sending one singles player and three doubles teams to the 3C2A Regional and State Tournaments in Ojai next week.
Michael Masarani qualified for the singles draw in Ojai after winning a pair of matches at the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Tournament held at Mt. SAC last week. Masarani won his first match 6-0, 6-0 and followed that with a 6-1, 6-3 straight set victory to qualify. His two wins also made him an IEAC All-Conference selection.
Masarani also teamed up with Landon Bristow to qualify as a doubles team for Ojai reaching the quarterfinals of the IEAC bracket.
The Eagle duos of Jesus Guadarrama and Keith Norman as well as Chad Hayes and Tony Martinez also will be taking part in the Regional Tournament after fighting through the back draw to qualify.
The Eagles finished the regular season with a team record of 7-8 overall and 7-3 in IEAC matches tying them for second place in the league standings.
The tournament in Ojai will begin on April 24th and run through the 27th.
