Eagles to Open Playoffs at Home Tuesday
The MSJC softball team has earned the sixteenth seed in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Tournament and will host Moorpark in Menifee Tuesday April 29th at 2 pm.
The MSJC softball team has earned the sixteenth seed in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Tournament and will host Moorpark in Menifee Tuesday April 29th at 2 pm.
The Eagles won their first conference championship since 2009 during the regular season and will also be making their first postseason appearance since then.
The team wrapped up the regular season last Wednesday with an eight inning walk-off win over Chaffey 6-5. Bailey Heuer had four hits and an RBI while Trinity Robinson earned the pitching victory with five and a third innings of shutout relief.
MSJC will enter the game with an overall record of 29-10, the Eagles have won twelve of their last 13 games. Moorpark enters the tournament with an overall record of 21-13 they were the runners-up in the Western States North Conference.
The Eagle pitching duo of Ellianna Pasley and Trinity Robinson who both were named First Team all Inland Empire Athletic Conference performers over the weekend will lead the way into the playoffs. Pasley finished the regular season with a 16-3 record in the circle while Robinson was 11-6, both had earned run averages under two and a half.
Trinity Barnes and Brooke Schaffer, also named First Team All IEAC, will lead the MSJC offense into the postseason along with Second Team all-league selections Bailey Heuer, Hayley Gano, Amy Naranjo, and Natalie Juarez.
Tuesday's game will begin at 2 pm with the winner advancing to a three-game series against either Orange Coast or Cypress on Friday and Saturday.
