The MSJC women’s basketball team started fast and cruised to victory for the second time this season against Chaffey as they won 75-42 on the road.
The MSJC women's basketball team started fast and cruised to victory for the second time this season against Chaffey as they won 75-42 on the road.
The Eagles opened the game with consecutive three-pointers by Kiara Williams, Kohen Marshall, and Karsen Marshall to jump ahead 9-0 just two and a half minutes into the contest. From there MSJC went on the lead 23-7 after the first quarter and 50-14 at halftime.
Kohen Marshall finished the afternoon with a game-high 24 points she also pulled down 6 rebounds. Williams scored 22 points in the game including 15 in the first half, she also tied for game-high honors with 5 assists. Karsen Marshall had a monster double double with 19 points and 16 rebounds she was also credited with 5 assists and 3 steals. Amiya Singer continued to be hard to score on around the rim as she recorded 3 blocked shots.
The Eagles are now 8-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games and 17-5 overall, Chaffey fell to 11-11 and 4-4.
The win sets up a huge IEAC showdown on Wednesday night when MSJC hosts Copper Mountain College at 5 pm. CMC enters the game with a 20-1 overall record and a mark of 7-1 in conference play. The two teams played in Joshua Tree on December 17th with the Eagles escaping with a 93-88 double overtime victory.
