Women's Hoops Claims 8th Straight Conference Title
The MSJC women’s basketball team clinched their 8th straight conference championship Wednesday night with a convincing 103-63 win on the road at San Bernardino Valley.
The MSJC women's basketball team clinched their 8th straight conference championship Wednesday night with a convincing 103-63 win on the road at San Bernardino Valley.
The Eagles started strong and then finished strong as they out scored the Wolverines 31-14 in the first quarter and 26-10 in the fourth. MSJC never trailed in the game and held SBVC to under 30% from the field on the night.
Kohen Marshall had a double-double as she scored a game-high 30 points and pulled in a game-best 10 rebounds, she also had 4 assists and 4 steals. Karsen Marshall added 25 in the win for the Eagles while Kiara Williams, who is currently 3rd in the State in assists, scored 21 points and dished out 9 assists, she also had 5 steals. Amiya Singer also had a solid game with 9 points and 7 rebounds while Trinity Skinner finished with 4 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Eagles improved to 21-5 overall and 12-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play with just two games left in the regular season. Second place Copper Mountain is currently 10-2, giving the Eagles at least a share of the IEAC title. MSJC has won the conference championship every year since 2018 and 11 of the past 13 seasons.
MSJC has the weekend off before traveling to Palo Verde on Wednesday for a 5 pm game. The Eagles final game of the regular season is next Friday when they host Victor Valley, that game is also set to tip-off at 5 pm.
