Women's Soccer Headed to San Bernardino For Playoff Opener
The MSJC soccer team drew a familiar foe in the opening round of the 2025 3C2A Regional Tournament as they will travel to San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday.
The MSJC soccer team drew a familiar foe in the opening round of the 2025 3C2A Regional Tournament as they will travel to San Bernardino Valley on Wednesday.
The Eagles and the Wolverines met twice this season with each team winning 2-0 at home. MSJC lost at SBVC on September 23rd but returned the favor on October 17th winning at HCN Bank Stadium. The Wolverines have not lost a match since then as they wrapped up the regular season 2-0-4 over their last six matches.
MSJC also comes in on a hot streak as they went 5-0-1 over their final six contests of the year. The Eagles allowed just five goals over their final six matches. MSJC will be led into the playoffs by leading scorer Lorena Gonzalez who scored 11 points during the regular season with 4 goals and 3 assists. America Chavez is tied for the team lead with 4 goals of her own while Maggie Arens enters the postseason as MSJC's assist leader with 4. The Eagles who enter the playoffs with a 9-8-2 overall record have won six matches by shutout. SBVC comes into the postseason with an overall record of 10-5-5 and they have also not allowed a goal on six different occasions.
Wednesday's match at San Bernardino Valley will kick-off at 11 am. The winner of this match-up will travel to top seeded Saddleback on Saturday November 22nd for a second round contest. This is the Eagles fourth straight season advancing to the Regional Tournament.
