Women's Tennis Off to 3-0 Start
The MSJC women’s tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season Tuesday as they won their first road match of the year at Rio Hondo 9-0.
The MSJC women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season Tuesday as they won their first road match of the year at Rio Hondo 9-0.
The Eagles jumped ahead in doubles where they won all three matches. The #1 team of Madison Williamson and Brooke Sherwood set the tone winning 8-0. The #2 duo of Indie Stover and Natalia Mattar won by a score of 8-2, and MSJC rounded out the doubles sweep at #3 when Jaydn Brush and Helaina Garcia teamed up for an 8-6 win.
MSJC would continue to dominate the action in singles as they won all six match ups in straight sets. Williamson again got the team out of the gates quickly winning, 6-1 and 6-0. Mattar, Stover, Sherwood, and Brush also picked up wins. Rosemary Bradshaw joined the line-up for singles and won her #6 match 6-1 and 6-1.
The Eagles were coming off an 8-1 win over Antelope Valley where they won all three doubles matches and won five of six singles matches including four in straight sets.
The Eagles will return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Riverside for a 1 pm match, the team will be back at home on Thursday for a rematch with Rio Hondo.
