The MSJC women's tennis team won two of three matches to kick off Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play over the last week.
The Eagles were defeated by Grossmont in their PCAC opener 8-1 but bounced back to defeat both Imperial Valley and College of the Desert.
In the loss to Grossmont the #3 doubles team of Jaydn Brush and Helaina Garcia earned the Eagles' only point of the day with an 8-6 win.
MSJC won 7-2 on the road at Imperial Valley. In that match the Eagles got off to a fast start as Madison Williamson and Brooke Sherwood paired at the #1 doubles spot and earned an 8-6 victory. In singles Natalia Mattar, Sherwood, Brush, and Rosemary Bradshaw all earned straight set wins to secure the team win.
Tuesday the Eagles defeated College of the Desert 6-3. MSJC jumped ahead of the Roadrunners 3-0 after doubles and then singles wins by Mattar, Bradshaw, and Indie Stover wrapped up the victory.
The Eagles are now 6-2 overall on the season and 2-1 in PCAC action. The team will be right back on the court on Thursday when they host San Diego City at 2 pm on the San Jacinto Campus.
