Eagles Wrap Regular Season With Win Over Southwestern
The MSJC women’s tennis team concluded their regular season on a high note Thursday as they defeated Southwestern 6-3 at home.
The MSJC women's tennis team concluded their regular season on a high note Thursday as they defeated Southwestern 6-3 at home.
Indie Stover and Jaydn Brush picked up a #2 doubles victory 8-2, MSJC was awarded the #3 doubles point by default. Brush would also add a dominate #3 singles victory as she won in straight sets 6-0 and 6-0. Brooke Sherwood won her singles match also in straight sets 6-2 and 6-0 to cap off the MSJC win.
The Eagles were coming off a tough match at Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Champion San Diego City where the team fell 9-0.
The San Diego City match was preceded by a competitive 6-3 loss to Desert and a strong 9-0 win over Imperial Valley. In the Desert match Madison Williamson and Sherwood earned a #1 doubles victory while Rosemary Bradshaw and Sherwood each won their singles match. Against Imperial Valley Williamson, Sherwood, and Calista Nowell all earned wins in singles.
MSJC now has a little down time to prepare for the PCAC Tournament on April 2nd and 3rd. The tournament is being hosted at Southwestern, brackets for the singles and doubles competitions should be available early next week.
The Eagles ended a strong regular season with an overall record of 10-6, they went 5-5 in PCAC play.
