Volleyball Headed to Ventura to Open Playoffs
The MSJC volleyball team earned the 18th seed in the 2024 3C2A state playoffs and will travel to Ventura on Saturday for their opening round match.
The MSJC volleyball team earned the 18th seed in the 2024 3C2A state playoffs and will travel to Ventura on Saturday for their opening round match.
The Eagles are making their sixth playoff appearance in the past eight seasons and earned their second straight Inland Empire Athletic Conference title this year. MSJC will enter Saturday night's contest with an overall record of 17-9, they were 11-1 in IEAC matches.
This week four Eagles were honored by the conference with both Megan Gajda and Josephine Springer being named First Team All-IEAC while Kalia Anady and Brooklyn Jimenez were named to the Second Team. Gajda finished the regular season as the team leader in kills with 271, she also had 4 solo blocks and 17 block assists. Springer ended the year with 214 kills as well as 261 digs which was second on the team. Jimenez was the Eagles leader in digs with 297 for the season and Anady led in assists with 326.
The Eagles played Ventura earlier this season and lost to the Pirates 3-0 in a match contested at Pasadena City College. The Pirates will come into the postseason with a record of 15-9, they finished tied for third in the Western States North Conference and are the 15th seed. The winner of Saturday's match will travel to San Diego Mesa on Tuesday.
Saturday's match will begin at 6 pm at the VC Events Center on the Ventura Campus. Ticket prices are set by the 3C2A and will be available at the link below.
