Desi Brown Named New MSJC Indoor Volleyball Coach
The MSJC Athletic Department is pleased to announce Desi Brown as its new women’s volleyball coach. Brown comes MSJC from Grossmont College where she served as the Associate Head Coach of the beach volleyball program.
The MSJC Athletic Department is pleased to announce Desi Brown as its new women's volleyball coach. Brown comes from Grossmont College where she served as the Associate Head Coach of the beach volleyball program.
Brown spent the last four years at Grossmont where she was involved in all aspects of the program including recruiting, practice planning, athlete development, and academic oversight. She also spent time in athletic administration and as an instructor in the exercise science department.
Coach Brown has extensive experience across collegiate, high school, club, and international volleyball. She is currently the Head Beach coach at BRUSA Volleyball Club and has spent time with various club programs throughout Southern California. In 2023 Brown played and coached indoor volleyball for various teams in Belize. In addition to coaching, Brown was a Performance Coach at Progressive Health from 2021-2023 and Activ8 Sports Performance Center through 2024.
As a player, Brown was a member of the 2019 Grossmont Beach State Championship team. She earned both First Team All-Conference and Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Duo of the Year honors. She went on to play two seasons at The Master's University where she continued to have success garnering All Golden State Athletic Conference recognition as well as being named GSAC Pair of the Year.
"I'm really excited to join the Eagle Family", said Brown. "I want to continue to grow this program and help take it to the next level."
Brown also holds a master's degree in Exercise Science and Wellness, a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Sports Nutrition Coach.
