Offense Carries Eagles to 3-0 Week
The MSJC baseball team improved to 5-3 on the season as they picked up three wins last week, one more over San Diego City and two against San Diego Mesa.

The MSJC baseball team improved to 5-3 on the season as they picked up three wins last week, one more over San Diego City and two against San Diego Mesa.
The Eagles started the week Tuesday at home and erupted to blow out San Diego City 24-5. MSJC led after five innings 21-0. The Eagles had several offensive stars on the day led by Will Siqueiros who went 3 for 5 with a double and 4 runs driven in. Alex Pintal was right behind him as he also was 3 for 5 on the day with a double and 3 RBIs. Miguel Campos, Mikey Ong, Brody Boyd, Tyler Trout, Charlie Wilson, and Ty Mattson all collected two RBIs in the victory.
Thursday MSJC traveled to San Diego Mesa where they fell behind 2-0 after the first inning but answered to score the next 10 runs in the game on their way to a 15-5 win. Matt Rezkalah had 3 hits and drove home three to lead the offense, Trout also had 3 RBIs. Wyatt Fiedler and Justin Granado had two RBIs each for MSJC.
MSJC wrapped up the week with a home game against Mesa, and this time used some timely hitting and a solid starting pitching performance to win 8-3. Isaiah Diaz earned the win on the mound as he went 5 solid innings allowing just 2 earned runs and striking out 4. Dayton Thompson played solid at shortstop for the first eight innings of the game and drove in a pair of runs before taking the mound to throw a scoreless top of the ninth.
The wins improve the Eagles record to 5-3 on the season they have three more games on the schedule this week starting with a trip to Orange Coast on Tuesday. MSJC will host Grossmont on Thursday and then make the return trip to the Griffons on Saturday. All three games this week are scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
