The MSJC men's basketball team erased a 3-point halftime deficit on Wednesday night when they scored 90 second half points to defeat Palo Verde 140-107.
The Eagles school record half helped them reach the 20-win mark on the season and they have secured a second-place finish in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference standings with one game remaining.
MSJC, who was playing without their leading scorer Adrian Mosley, still saw seven players reach double figures and all 12 players who played in the game scored at least 4 points.
RJ Dawson led the charge with a season-high 29 points for MSJC while Willie Miller and Daniel Crawford both had 17. Caio Da Silva and Tyler Frazier-Mathews both scored 15 on the night with Frazier-Mathews also pulling in a team-best 10 rebounds. Stephen Castleberry and Luca Walema both added 10 points in the victory.
The Eagles were coming off of a 79-75 win over Cerro Coso on Saturday. In that game Mosley led the way with 21 points whlie Miller scored 20 and Frazier-Mathews added 11 points, 6 rebounds, and had 4 blocked shots.
The Eagles are now 20-7 overall and 12-3 in IEAC play and will host Victor Valley on Friday night at 7pm. There will be a short ceremony prior to Friday night's game to honor MSJC's 2026 sophomores. Regional playoff seeding and matchups will be announced on Sunday.
