Eagles Win Three Straight
The MSJC softball team is on a three-game winning streak after an 8-5 win over Southwestern on Tuesday.

The MSJC softball team is on a three-game winning streak after an 8-5 win over Southwestern on Tuesday.
The Eagles led by just one run 6-5 after six innings but scored a pair of runs in the top of the 7th to pull away for the victory. Trinity Barnes hit a solo home run in the top of the 7th and Malia Cordova drove home 4 runs in the game to lead the MSJC offense. Makayla Frye added 2 RBIs and Charlotte Bayless picked up the pitching victory throwing five innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 4.
MSJC was coming off a doubleheader sweep of San Diego City on Saturday. In game one the Eagles jumped ahead early on their way to a 11-0 five inning win. The offense blasted 13 hits in the game led by 3 hits each from Cordova and Marleigh Wielinski. Arianna Vasquez had 2 hits including a triple while driving in a team-high 3 runs. Bayless was also the winner in the circle as she pitched four innings allowing just 1 hit, she struck out 6.
Game two on Saturday was a bit closer as both team's offenses were hot early in the game. After just two innings the Eagles led 8-6. MSJC's pitching settled down the rest of the way and the team came away with a 13-8 win. Cordova stayed hot in game two as she went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles. Wielinski had 3 RBIs in the win and Vasquez added 3 hits and a pair of RBIs. Barnes finished the game with 2 hits and a season-high 4 stolen bases. Ellianna Pasley was the winning pitcher as she threw 5 1/3 innings of relief and allowed just one earned run.
The three victories improved the Eagles record on the season to 6-3, they will be back in action Friday when they host Golden West. Friday's game in Menifee is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
