Offense Leads Eagles to Doubleheader Sweep
The MSJC softball team opened Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on Friday with a doubleheader sweep of Victor Valley on the road.

The MSJC softball team opened Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on Friday with a doubleheader sweep of Victor Valley on the road.
The Eagle bats carried the day as they won by scores of 13-5 and 15-10.
In the first game of the day MSJC scored five times in the top of the 2nd inning and added six more runs in the top of the 6th to earn the victory. Neveah Bachman had a triple and a double in the contest while driving home three runs. Vanessa Garcia also had 3 RBIs as she hit a bases loaded double in the 6th to give the Eagles breathing room down the stretch. Kaylee Fraund knocked in a pair of runs in the victory. Charlotte Bayless picked up the pitching victory.
Game two was an offensive battle with the teams going back-and-forth until MSJC erupted for seven runs in the top of the 6th inning. The Eagles trailed 9-8 heading into the 6th when Trinity Barnes got things going with her second triple of the day. Garcia would add an RBI double in the inning and then Malia Cordova capped off the offensive outburst with a 2-run double of her own. Cordova finished the game with 5 RBIs and Journee Rohbok knocked two runs home. Ellianna Pasley earned the pitching victory.
The Eagles improved their overall record for the season to 11-10 with the wins, they are 2-0 in IEAC games. MSJC will be on the road Wednesday when they travel to Chaffey for a 2 pm league game, the Eagles will play at home on Saturday at noon against Southwestern.
