The MSJC soccer team picked up two huge wins last week as they won on the road at Chaffey Tuesday and Norco Friday.
Tuesday the Eagles took down Inland Empire Athletic Conference leader Chaffey as they scored a pair of first half goals and then hung on for a 2-1 victory. MSJC scored quickly as America Chavez found the back of the net just four minutes into the match, she got an assist from Maggie Arens. The Eagles would push the lead to 2-0 before halftime when Chavez scored again this time with a helper from Jalyssa Arias. The MSJC defense did the rest as they kept the Panthers off the scoreboard until the 62nd minute when they scored their only goal of the day. Briseida Medina earned the win in goal as she made 4 saves in her 90 minutes of play.
Friday MSJC again built an early lead, scoring a pair of goals in the opening 15 minutes of play on their way to a 2-0 win at Norco. Kassandra Martinez got things going with a goal in the 4th minute of play with an assist from Chavez. Haylee Chilton would add to the lead with an assist from Lorena Gonzalez in the 15th minute and the Eagles cruised from there. Medina once again played all 90 minutes in goal as she made 1 save to preserve the shutout.
