MSJC Sweeps VVC After Tough Loss to Desert
The MSJC volleyball team lost a heart breaker on Wednesday in five sets to visiting College of the Desert but came back and swept Victor Valley on Friday.

The MSJC volleyball team lost a heart breaker on Wednesday in five sets to visiting College of the Desert but came back and swept Victor Valley on Friday.
The Eagles and Desert battled for five highly competitive sets with the Roadrunners winning the opener 26-24. MSJC came back to win the second and third by scores of 25-18 and 25-19 but Desert would not go away. The Roadrunners won the fourth 25-22 and then finished off the match winning the fifth 15-13. Daija Malcolm had a big night with twenty-five kills while Tala Paige Gurganious knocked down fourteen and Alena Magee had ten. Sophia Castro led the defensive effort with twenty-four digs, Destiny Affor picked up eighteen and Lilly Galvin had seventeen.
MSJC bounced back with a sweep of Victor Valley on Friday. The Eagles got stronger as the match went on winning by scores of 25-20. 25-15, and 25-11. Gurganious led the way with eleven kills while setter Angelina Browder dished out twenty-seven assists.
The Eagles improved to 8-9 overall with the win Friday night, they are 2-2 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play. MSJC will travel to Chaffey on Friday to play the Panthers at 5 pm.
