Volleyball Downs Grossmont Falls to Mt. SAC
The MSJC volleyball team split their final two non-conference matches of the season last week, picking up a road win at Grossmont before losing at home to Mt. SAC.

The MSJC volleyball team split their final two non-conference matches of the season last week, picking up a road win at Grossmont before losing at home to Mt. SAC.
Tuesday the Eagles traveled to Grossmont where they swept the Griffons, winning by scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 30-28. Lorna Lopez led the offensive attack with thirteen kills; she also had a pair of block assists on defense. Daija Malcolm knocked down ten kills and had twelve digs. Angelina Browder continued to lead the way with assists as she dished out thirty of them in the victory. On defense Lilly Galvin had a team best thirteen digs and Alena Magee was tough at the net making a solo block and three block assists.
Wednesday the Eagles fell behind early at home against Mt. SAC and could never quite recover as they lost in straight sets to the Mounties 25-22, 25-12, and 25-18. Malcolm had a big night with nineteen kills while Browder and Galvin picked up nine digs each.
MSJC wrapped the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 6-7 overall mark. The Eagles will have some time to rest before opening Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on October 1st when they travel to San Bernardino Valley.
