Volleyball Falls in Opening Round of Regional
The MSJC volleyball team saw their season come to an end on Saturday night in Oceanside as they lost to Mira Costa 3-0 in the opening round of the 3C2A Southern California Regional tournament.
The MSJC volleyball team saw their season come to an end on Saturday night in Oceanside as they lost to Mira Costa 3-0 in the opening round of the 3C2A Southern California Regional tournament.
The Eagles, who finished the season with a record of 13-11, lost in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-22.
MSJC was led by Tala Paige Gurganious and Daija Malcolm on the offensive side of the net with Gurganious knocking down a team high 12 kills and Malcolm recording 11. Setter Angelina Browder capped off her strong season dishing out 36 assists.
On defense Lilly Galvin picked up a team best 22 digs, Malcolm had 13, and Alena Magee added a solo block and a block assist. The Eagle were making their 7th playoff appearance in the past 9 years and their third in a row.
Earlier in the week the Inland Empire Athletic Conference also named their 2025 All League Team. Five Eagles were honored. Malcolm and Browder both made First-Team All-IEAC while Galvin and Lorna Lopez were named to the Second Team. Gurganious was listed as Honorable Mention.
